Jerry Parr - Chief Engineer

Jerry Parr has been around aircraft for all of his life (so far!).  Having a father who was in the RAF, Jerry is an aviation enthusiast and a private pilot.

After gliding for a number of years, he was awarded an RAF Flying Scholarship and gained his PPL in 1979. In 1981, Jerry joined the RAF as an engineering apprentice at RAF Halton and then worked on Canberra aircraft.

In 1990 he left the RAF, gained his CAA aircraft maintenance engineer's licence and maintained a fleet of aircraft for a flying club at Peterborough before joining Airways Aero Associations Ltd in 2003. Jerry became Chief Engineer for AAA Ltd Engineering in 2005.

To prove his enthusiasm for aviation, off-duty Jerry has already built one aircraft, an RV-6 and now has now embarked on a second aircraft build project, an RV-12.

John Hartill - Chief Flying Instructor

John Hartill Chief Flying Instructor Tecnam UKLike many others my flying career was "kick started" following an air experience flight with the Air Training Corps in a Chipmunk aircraft at White Waltham.

Later, a gliding course culminated in my first solo in a glider and this was closely followed by a 30 hour Flying Scholarship at Carlisle airfield for issue of a PPL.

After many years of teaching Air Cadets to fly gliders and motor gliders I entered the world of civilian flying to instruct on a variety of types from the Tiger Moth to the Golden Eagle. I have been Chief Flying Instructor of Airways Flying Club since 1999 and am the designated Head of Training for the multi-engine FTO. I hold Senior Examiner qualifications for single and multi-engine machines.
